Shady Dell, Bisbee, AZ

 A hot tip about Shady Dell came from Louise while we were on the road. Don't miss it if you are near Bisbee she said.

The 50's coifed and outfitted inn keeper said we were limited to shooting from the fence, but it was enough to see many of the series of restored travel trailers from the mid-20th Century. The owner's website (http://www.theshady  dell.com/faq/) provides some better shots of the trailers up close.

It looks like the best idea is to rent one to have the full experience. You might have noticed in the recent issue of Sunset there is an article about vintage trailers for rent including a location in my home town of Santa Barbara. Look around, you may not have to go far to try one out!

This blue street lodger in Bisbee seems a bit rougher than anything at Shady Dell, but there is a certain creativity in design tho crudely implemented here. Always good to see an RV experiement!



At the Shady Dell a small, wee diner sits and perhaps is open on occasion, but we missed it.

A friendly local woman at Crystal Palace in Tombstone suggested Bisbee and I owe her thanks, though I don't recall her name. Well, thanks just the same!
